After attending numerous book events together, romance author Thea Landen and GetAuthorSites.com Founder John B. noticed a lack of similar conventions near Thea's home in the lower Hudson Valley. Their goal was to create an event to bring authors and readers together in a location that was near New York City and accessible both geographically and financially. They quickly realized Tarrytown was the perfect spot, one which would draw attendants from the city itself, the Tri-State area, and beyond!
The Team
Thea's first book was published in 2012 and she's been writing steadily ever since, with some of her books winning notable awards. A former public school teacher, she now works in the legal field, and spends her free time traveling with her family or working out at the gym. (She would like to take this opportunity to point out that the Tarrytown Orangetheory is practically right next door to the Westchester Marriott. And yes, she has written a gym romance book!)
John has been organizing events and working in technology since 2007, creating websites for doctors, lawyers, authors, and tourism organizations. After selling his marketing agency, he had more time to dedicate to pro bono work for social causes, as well as to rediscover his love for reading. The Westchester Marriott is located in Tarrytown, New York, a historic town in the scenic Hudson Valley which is easily accessible from New York City. The hotel is located near several main highways, including the New York State Thruway and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. Attendees can also travel to Tarrytown via the Metro-North Railroad or Westchester County Airport.
